Dynamic Curb

Dynamic ONROADLED™ markers create intelligent, flexible curb-side zones which function can be updated in real time or linked to data-driven event triggers.

There are myriads of uses for the valuable curbside space which go unrealised in most cities. Curb space is typically designated for one of three uses: parking, pickup/drop off, or as a standard vehicle lane. Cities occasionally implement clearway systems, where parking is allowed except during peak hours, but this is the extent of curbside flexibility.

By making curb space dynamic with ONROADLED™ markers, cities can optimise the interaction between passengers and mobility with flexible zones where the desired function can be updated in real-time (or event-triggered/scheduled). Each function would have an associated ONROADLED™ colour (or mode, e.g. flashing) to indicate current intended usage.

Our cloud-based software, SMARTS, serves as a hub for the management of your system(s); enabling remote monitoring, (real-time) control and management; with intelligent data tools and analysis for informed decision making.

Sidewalk Labs Partnership

Sidewalk Labs is Alphabet’s urban innovation organization. They aim to reinvent urban mobility through the application of digital technology to traditional infrastructure assets.

The hexagonal pavement concept: Sidewalk is developing a hexagonal pavement system with embedded ONROADLED™ markers, which they believe can help them to shape the future of dynamic urban environments.
